Each year there is a whole slew of new, original holiday programming dominating the airwaves from Thanksgiving until New Years. Often they are simple, holiday-themed episodes of current shows, as well as re-airings of classic, and lately more modern classic, family-friendly films, and the handful of new made-for-TV movies they hope will someday make it into the modern classic category. This year, though, ABC Family is one network taking things a little farther and getting into the giving spirit. To further celebrate their 25 Days of Christmas programming (and to be a bit more inclusive), they have created 25 Days of Giving Back!
Get in on Giving Tuesday!
Being that IBG is in the midst of a Charity Swag Auction, we were thrilled to see that so many other (and better known!) companies, too, were encouraging their brand junkies to get in the giving spirit this holiday season. If you’re going to spend a lot of money on gifts from family to friends to co-workers, you should at least consider giving a gift where a percentage of the proceeds go to charity, right?
IBG Gives Thanks
Throughout the year IBG may work hard to help those in need, from local groups to global organizations, but times have been tough for all of us, and during these moments, we think it is especially important to take a second out of our usual stress-filled day, look around, and express some sentiments of thanks.
30 Days of Gratitude: 5 Things For Which IBG Is Grateful
This year Carla Kay White, an app lifestyle designer and founder of the popular Gratitude Journal app, is encouraging people to go one step further and embark on a project called 30 Days of Gratitude. The rules are simple: for the month of November, 30 days straight, she is asking people to share one thing they are grateful for either in a journal, with her app or in a photo on Instagram.
We at IBG took some time to reflect on what we are grateful for this year…
IBG is an organization that was founded by women, and throughout the year we work tirelessly to support a number of causes for women. But each of us has an important man in our life (be it a boyfriend, a father, a brother, etc), so this fun take on giving is just as worthy as any. Besides, there are hundreds of walks happening for hundreds of causes every year, but how many fundraising efforts get this creative?
